OILFIELD TREND SERIES: What to watch for in 2016 and beyond

DSC_5068.png

The future of oilfield automation is bright. Even in the face of industry downturn, or perhaps particularly because of it, automation is an investment well made. Automation systems make oilfield operations more cost efficient and less tedious—and delivering that value is one of the greatest rewards for those of us who create these systems.

In the coming weeks we will be sharing some thoughts on the future in a four-part Oilfield Trends series. We begin with a discussion of the price of oil and the fortunes of automation, describing what we see happening to projects and how customers achieve a quick ROI. The second article delves into mega trends in oilfield automation including the great shift change, energy savings and integration.

Next we turn to a look at the changing workforce and the impact of Gen Z. Finally we top off the series with a more detailed review of how the prevalence of collection and control technologies will drive producers to demand device integration and collaborative maintenance.

SPOC Automation is well positioned for the future and we continue to invest heavily in research and development. We derive great enjoyment from helping our customers achieve real economic advantage. Watch for our innovations throughout 2016.
