The Power of SCADA: A Practical Example

The tank is full, and water is flowing — into the street. Clearly, the definition of a crisis. And for this customer, a water-handling company, the process of shutting down the pumps was still manual. Meaning that every second that it took for their crew to reach the pumps, water (and money!) was flowing into the streets of their city. Talk about your worst-case scenario. The loss was made worse, later, when the fines began to roll in. In fact, it was the fines violating environmental regulations that finally forced the producer to make significant changes to their operations.

In her newest Two-Minute Drives video, Kimberly Farr, sales & marketing manager at Well Optix, talks about the experiences of a customer and what they did to prevent the problem from ever happening again.

It’s a compelling story with a happier ending than our customer might have imagined. Check it out.
